How can I try out TUB-DMP?

Two testing systems are available:

The test system provides the same range of functions as the production system, including all templates. You can make any entries in the test system. Please note that data will not be stored on a permanent basis.
Please also note that the test system is at the same time a development system. This can lead to temporary error messages and system outages. We apologize in advance.

The demo system has the same range of functions as the production system; the templates, however, are only available as short versions.
You can make any entries in the test system. Please note that data will not be stored and may not be permanently available.

Please contact the SZF team with any questions you may have.

Can I use TUB-DMP for collaborative projects which contain a number of sub-projects?

Yes, TUB-DMP allows you to set up data management plans both for individual projects and collaborative projects with any number of sub-projects.

TUB-DMP has a hierarchical structure:

  • The project data management plan (Projekt-DMP) always forms the top level of the structure. It contains data on the project (such as principal investigator, project title, abstract, etc.).
For an individual project, a single data management plan (DMP) is created beneath this record.
  • For a collaborative project, you can add as many additional DMPs as you require for sub-projects.
The DMP documents the context in which research data was generated and how the research data is handled in the future.

How does the workflow function in TUB-DMP?

A DMP is created in two steps:

1. Initiating the project DMP

Fill in the form with the details of your research project and submit the form. Please also enter the project number if you have already been assigned one.

The SZF team will conduct a quick formal check and email the enabled data management plan to allow you to add additional details.

2. Setting up a DMP or DMPs
A step-by-step workflow guides you through a catalogue of questions.

You can interrupt the input at any time, save the plan and resume editing the DMP at a later time.

What added values are provided by completing the fields and how does this reduce your workload?

  • Reducing the amount of written work

To reduce the amount of written work, various fields have already filled out with the so-called DepositOnce standard values: An added value is provided by the fact that information about DepositOnce (such as information about the operator of the repository and the infrastructure, storage cycles, etc.) has already been entered.

You can modify all content of the pre-filled fields to reflect the specific requirements of your project.

  • Step-by-step workflow

A step-by-step workflow guides you through a catalogue of questions. In this way, of the essential components a DMP are entered in a structured manner. Thus, the workflow ensures that you have do not omit anything important in your DMP.

Do all fields need to be completed in TUB-DMP?

No, you only need to complete those fields which are relevant for your project. Only the fields you have filled in will appear in the PDF file.

How does versioning work in TUB-DMP?

You have to actively trigger the creation of a version. Once you have completed and saved your plan, click on the button "Create Snapshot & New Version".

Please note: The older version can no longer be modified!

The current version contains the values from the previous version. You can edit the current version as usual, delete values from the old version, insert new values, save, export, etc.

In the overview of your data management plans you can see the current version as well as all older versions.

Can I export/forward a data management plan?

You can export all data management plans as a PDF file or send it as an email (PDF attachment).

Only those fields you have filled in will appear in the PDF file.

An XML export can be set up if required. Please contact the SZF team.
